Some pictures from the 2011 open dyking competition at Rainton Farm, Gatehouse-of-Fleet run in conjunction with the Gatehouse Development Initiative with funding from LEADER.
The professional winner was James Nichol, the amateur winner was David McCleary and the novice winner was Nic Coombey. The prizes were presented by Dr David Steel, Chair of the Gatehouse Development Initiative.

The branch held an open dyking competition on the 29th of September 2018 at Drummuckloch Farm near Gatehouse of Fleet with the kind permission of Mr Mark Hannay. Gatehouse Development Initiative, the John Younger Trust and Galloway Preservation Society provided generous support and funding towards the prize money. Philip Dolphin from England won the overall professional class, Nic Coombey was best amateur and William McClymont best novice. Keith Dempster won the best dyker in the Stewartry. Prizes were given by representatives of all three sponsors.
